Terms of Service

Effective September 6, 2026 · Last reviewed September 13, 2026 · See also the Privacy Policy

The short version

  • Theraglee is educational and supportive, not medical care. Nothing here diagnoses or treats anything, and using the site does not make anyone your therapist. In an emergency, call or text 988, or call 911.
  • You must be 18 or older and in the United States to use Theraglee.
  • Paid memberships renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account page and keep access to the end of the period you paid for.
  • What you write is yours. We only use it to run the service for you.
  • Therapists are independent professionals. We verify their licenses, but we do not employ them, supervise their care, or guarantee results.
  • Be kind and honest. Do not misuse the site, other people's information, or the therapist directory.

The short version is a guide. The full terms below are what counts.

1. The agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a contract between you and Theraglee ("Theraglee," "we," "us") covering your use of theraglee.com and everything offered through it, including the self-discovery tools, member memberships, and therapist listings (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, creating an account, or clicking to accept, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy, which is part of them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Who may use Theraglee. You must be at least 18 years old, live in the United States, and be able to enter a binding contract. If you are joining as a therapist, you must also hold a current license in good standing from the licensing board of at least one U.S. state or territory, and you confirm that you have authority to bind your practice.

Changes to these Terms. We may update these Terms as the Service and the law change. When a change is material, we will post the new Terms with a new effective date and, if you have an account, email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. Changes that only clarify or that are required by law may take effect on posting. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept it; if you do not agree, you can close your account before then and, for a paid membership, receive a prorated refund of the unused part of the current period.

2. Theraglee is not medical care

If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, do not use this site to get help. Call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline), text HOME to 741741, or call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Theraglee is not monitored for emergencies and cannot respond to one.
  • No medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Everything on Theraglee, including quizzes, worksheets, journal prompts, challenges, checklists, articles, daily content and the discovery tools, is educational and supportive information for general wellbeing. It is not medical, psychological or psychiatric advice, and it is not a substitute for care from a licensed professional. Quizzes and self-assessments describe patterns you may notice in yourself; they cannot diagnose any condition.
  • No professional relationship. Using the Service does not create a therapist-client, doctor-patient, or any other professional relationship between you and Theraglee. Theraglee is not a health care provider, does not practice medicine or psychotherapy, and is not licensed in any state.
  • No artificial intelligence therapy. Theraglee does not offer an AI chatbot, an AI companion, or any artificial intelligence that converses with you, gives advice, or represents itself as a therapist, counselor or other professional. Every tool on the Service is fixed, written content prepared in advance. If we ever add a conversational feature, we will tell you clearly before you use it that you are interacting with a machine and follow the laws that govern such features.
  • Your own judgment. Decisions about your health are yours and your clinicians' to make. Never delay seeking, or disregard, professional advice because of something you read or did on Theraglee.

3. Your account

  • Give us accurate information when you register and keep it current.
  • Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and you agree to tell us right away at hello@theraglee.com if you think someone else has used it.
  • One person, one account. Do not share an account, and do not create an account for someone else without their permission.
  • For your privacy we sign you out after fifteen minutes without activity. Sign out yourself on any shared or public device.
  • You can close your account at any time from your account page. Section 13 explains what happens when you do.

4. Memberships and billing

Theraglee offers a Free membership and paid Basic and Premium memberships for members, and a single paid membership for therapists. What each includes, and current prices, are on the membership page. Prices are in U.S. dollars.

Automatic renewal

Please read this part carefully. It is the disclosure required by federal law (the Restore Online Shoppers' Confidence Act) and by state automatic renewal laws, including California's.

  • Paid memberships renew automatically. When you buy a monthly or yearly membership, it renews at the end of each period for another period of the same length, and the payment method you gave Stripe is charged the then-current price for that plan, until you cancel.
  • The price and period are shown on the membership page and on the checkout screen before you confirm, and again on your receipt. Your account page shows your plan and the next renewal date at any time.
  • You must actively agree. You will not be charged until you confirm the purchase on the checkout screen, which states that the membership renews automatically. After you buy, we email you a confirmation with the price, the renewal period, and how to cancel.
  • Reminders. For yearly memberships we email you a reminder between 15 and 45 days before each renewal that states the renewal date, the price, and how to cancel. If we change the price of your plan, we will email you at least 30 days before the change takes effect, and you may cancel before then.
  • Free trials. We do not currently offer free trials that convert to a paid membership. If we ever do, we will tell you the length of the trial, the price after it ends, and how to cancel before you are charged, and we will email you a reminder before the first charge.

How to cancel

Cancel any time, online, in as few steps as it took to sign up: open your account page, choose Membership, and select Manage billing or Cancel. You can also email hello@theraglee.com with the subject "Cancel my membership" and we will cancel it within two business days. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you already paid for; you keep access until then, and you will not be charged again. Canceling never deletes your journal, results or history. It only locks the tools that created them until you upgrade again.

Refunds

Because you keep access until the end of the paid period, we do not refund partial periods, except where these Terms say otherwise (a material change to the Terms, or a price increase you decline) or where the law of your state requires it. If we charge you by mistake, tell us and we will refund it. If you believe a charge is wrong, contact us before disputing it with your bank so we can fix it faster.

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe. By buying a membership you also agree to Stripe's terms for the payment itself. We do not see or store your card number. If a payment fails, we will let you know and retry; if it keeps failing, your membership returns to Free and you keep your data. Prices may not include applicable sales or use tax; where we must collect it, it will be shown at checkout. While payments are switched off during setup, the Free membership works in full and no paid plan can be purchased.

5. Therapist listings

These terms apply in addition to the rest if you list a practice on Theraglee.

  • You are independent. You are not our employee, agent or partner. You decide whom to accept as a client, what to charge, and how to practice. Theraglee provides a listing and referral tools; it does not provide, supervise, or take responsibility for any care you deliver.
  • License verification. Your listing goes live only after we confirm that your license is current and in good standing with the issuing board, and we re-check it before it expires. You agree to give us accurate license information and to tell us within five days if your license is suspended, restricted, surrendered or revoked, or if you are the subject of disciplinary action. If a check fails or your membership lapses, your listing comes down automatically and the clinician library and member list close, while your inbox and referral history remain. You may ask us to review a failed check.
  • Accuracy. Everything in your profile must be true and kept current, including credentials, specialties, insurances, fees, locations and availability. Do not claim a credential you do not hold or an outcome you cannot guarantee.
  • Your Theraglee number. We may give you a tracking phone number that forwards to the number you provide. It belongs to Theraglee, is for receiving inquiries from this Service, and is withdrawn when your listing ends. Calls are counted, not recorded.
  • Member information. Members who contact you, or who allow you to reach out, are sharing their information with you for that purpose only. You agree to use it only to respond to that person, to protect it as your license and applicable law require, not to add it to marketing lists, and to delete it when you no longer need it.
  • No client health information in Theraglee. Theraglee is not a HIPAA covered entity or business associate and does not sign business associate agreements. Do not enter any client's protected health information anywhere in the Service. The Assign Remind feature is shown in preview only and does not accept client records.
  • The clinician library may be used with your own clients in the course of your practice, and printed for that purpose. It may not be resold, republished, or shared with other practices.
  • Theraglee referral stats on your dashboard are provided as a convenience and may be incomplete. We do not guarantee any number of calls, messages, website clicks, shares, views, or clients.
  • Your obligations to clients, including confidentiality, informed consent, and mandatory reporting, are yours alone and are unchanged by these Terms.

6. Using the therapist directory

  • Therapists in the directory are independent professionals. We verify that each one holds a current license, and we show the information they give us. We do not evaluate their skill, endorse them, or guarantee that any therapist is right for you or will accept you as a client. Choosing a therapist is your decision.
  • When you message a therapist or turn on Theraglee Match Mode, you are choosing to share your information with that therapist. Theraglee Match Mode shares the details described in the Privacy Policy but not your name; replying to a therapist's message shares your real name with that therapist, and you must give your true name when you do. What you tell a therapist is governed by their privacy practices, not ours.
  • Use the directory only to find care for yourself or someone you are helping. Do not use it to send advertising, solicitations, or bulk messages, to harvest contact information, or to harass anyone.
  • Theraglee is not a party to any relationship or agreement between you and a therapist, and is not responsible for a therapist's acts or omissions.

7. Your content

Everything you enter into Theraglee, such as journal entries, answers, responses, goals, mood logs, messages, and profile text ("Your Content"), belongs to you. We do not claim ownership of it. You give us only the permission we need to run the Service for you: to store Your Content, show it back to you, back it up, deliver a message you asked us to deliver, and display the parts of a therapist profile that are meant to be public. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups that are removed on the schedule in the Privacy Policy and copies we must keep by law.

We will not read Your Content except when needed to operate, secure or debug the Service, to respond to your request, or as the law requires, and we will never use it for advertising or to train artificial intelligence.

You are responsible for Your Content. Do not enter anything you do not have the right to share, and do not enter another person's health information without their permission.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service if you are under 18 or outside the United States;
  • pretend to be someone else, misstate your credentials, or misrepresent your affiliation;
  • use the Service to harass, threaten, defame or harm anyone, or to send unsolicited advertising or bulk messages;
  • upload or share content that is unlawful, infringing, or that depicts a person in an intimate manner without their consent;
  • scrape, crawl, copy or download the Service or its content by automated means, or collect information about other users or therapists other than as the Service is designed to allow;
  • try to get around access rules, membership tiers, license verification, or security features, or probe or test the vulnerability of the Service without our written permission;
  • interfere with the Service or the servers and networks connected to it, or introduce malicious code;
  • use the Service to build a competing product or to train a machine-learning model;
  • resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the Service or its content, except as section 5 allows for therapists.

If you find a security problem, please tell us at hello@theraglee.com and give us a reasonable chance to fix it before disclosing it.

9. Our content and intellectual property

The Service and everything we provide through it, including the name Theraglee, the logo, the design, the quizzes, worksheets, prompts, challenges, checklists, articles, mandalas, discovery tools, and the software, are owned by Theraglee or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Subject to these Terms, we give you a personal, limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service, and to print or save copies of the materials your membership includes, for your own personal, non-commercial use. All other rights are reserved. Therapists may additionally use the clinician library as section 5 describes.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

10. Third-party services and links

The Service uses third-party providers such as Stripe for payments and links to outside resources such as the 988 Lifeline, SAMHSA's treatment locator, OpenStreetMap, and music services. Those sites and services have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content, availability or practices, and a link is not an endorsement.

11. Copyright complaints

We respect the intellectual property of others. If you believe something on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act to hello@theraglee.com with the subject "DMCA notice" that includes: a description of the copyrighted work; the location of the material on the Service; your name, address, telephone number and email address; a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner; and your physical or electronic signature. We will remove or disable access to the material and may notify the person who posted it. We may close the accounts of repeat infringers.

Theraglee does not host user-shared images or videos and is not a platform for sharing intimate imagery. If you nevertheless find an intimate image of yourself on the Service that was published without your consent, email us with the subject "Take It Down" and we will remove it within 48 hours, as the federal TAKE IT DOWN Act requires.

12. Ending the agreement

By you. You may stop using the Service at any time, cancel a paid membership as section 4 describes, and delete your account from your account page. When you delete your account, your journal, results, worksheets, challenges, goals, mood logs and tracking are removed permanently on the schedule in the Privacy Policy, and this cannot be undone. Download your data first if you want a copy.

By us. We may suspend or close your account, or remove a listing, if you break these Terms, if your license is no longer verified, if a payment cannot be collected, if your account is used in a way that harms other people or the Service, or if the law requires it. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix it. If we close your account for a reason other than a breach of these Terms, we will refund the unused part of any paid period. We may also stop offering all or part of the Service; if we do, we will give you at least 30 days' notice, time to download your data, and a prorated refund of any unused paid period.

Sections 7, 9, 11 and 13 through 17 survive the end of this agreement.

13. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, Theraglee disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that content is accurate or complete, that any therapist is suitable for you, or that using the Service will improve your health or produce any particular result.

Some states do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you. In that case, any implied warranty is limited to the shortest period the law allows.

14. Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Theraglee and the people who own, run and work for it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or the cost of substitute services, arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms, however caused and under any theory of liability, even if we were told such damages were possible. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose and (b) one hundred U.S. dollars.

These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for our fraud, our gross negligence or willful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence where the law does not allow that to be limited. Some states do not allow some of these limits, so some may not apply to you.

15. Indemnification

If someone brings a claim against Theraglee because of Your Content, your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or the law, or, for therapists, the care you provide, you agree to defend us and to cover the resulting losses, costs and reasonable attorneys' fees. We will tell you promptly about any such claim and let you control the defense, as long as you do not settle it in a way that admits fault on our part or imposes obligations on us without our consent.

16. Disputes and governing law

Talk to us first. Most problems can be solved quickly. Before starting any formal proceeding, email hello@theraglee.com with the subject "Dispute," describe the problem and what you would like us to do, and give us 30 days to work it out with you. We will do the same before bringing a claim against you.

Governing law. These Terms and any dispute between you and Theraglee are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which Theraglee has its principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, except that the consumer protection laws of the state where you live will apply to you if they give you greater protection.

Where claims are heard. Either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court where the rules allow. Otherwise, claims must be brought in the state or federal courts located in the state where Theraglee has its principal place of business, and you and we each consent to those courts, except that you may bring a claim in the courts of the state where you live if the law gives you that right. These Terms do not require arbitration and do not take away any right you have to bring a claim in court.

Time limit. To the extent the law allows, any claim relating to the Service must be filed within one year after it arises.

17. General terms

  • Electronic communications. You agree that we may send you notices, receipts, renewal reminders and other communications by email to the address on your account, and by posting on the Service, and that these count as "in writing." Keep your email address current. To withdraw this consent you must close your account.
  • Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Theraglee about the Service and replace any earlier agreement.
  • Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect and the unenforceable part is replaced by an enforceable term that comes as close as possible to the original intent.
  • No waiver. If we do not enforce a term, that is not a waiver of it.
  • Assignment. You may not transfer these Terms or your account to anyone else. We may transfer them in connection with a merger, sale or reorganization, and will tell you if we do.
  • Force majeure. Neither of us is responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
  • Notice to California residents. Under California Civil Code section 1789.3, you may contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by telephone at (800) 952-5210. Theraglee's contact information is in section 18. Prices for memberships are on the membership page, and section 4 describes billing and cancellation.
  • Accessibility. If you have a disability and need these Terms in another format, email us and we will provide it.
