Depression quiz: a low-mood check-in, not a diagnosis

People search for a depression quiz when something has gone flat and they want a name for it. Theraglee's low-mood check-ins will not give you a diagnosis, because a quiz cannot honestly give anyone one. What they can do is help you see the shape of a low patch: how long it has been going on, what it is touching, and what tends to lift it even slightly.

If you are thinking about harming yourself, please do not start with a quiz. Call or text 988 in the United States for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or text HOME to 741741. If you are in danger, call 911. These are free, confidential, and open around the clock.

The check-ins

Why we will not call it a screener

Formal depression screeners are clinical instruments, scored and interpreted by people trained to do it, usually alongside a conversation and a history. Handing you a number out of context can do real harm in both directions: it can frighten someone who is having a hard fortnight, and it can reassure someone who needs help now. Theraglee does not diagnose, screen for, assess for, or treat any condition. These check-ins give you language and a pattern, not a verdict.

What a low patch is worth taking to someone

A rough rule people find useful: if it has lasted more than two weeks, if it is touching more than one part of your life, or if the things that normally lift you have stopped working, that is worth a conversation with a licensed therapist. You do not have to be in crisis to deserve one.

Where to go next

Common questions

Can an online quiz tell me if I have depression?

No. No online quiz can diagnose depression, including this one. A diagnosis comes from a licensed clinician who can take a history and talk with you.

What does the Theraglee low-mood check-in actually do?

It asks about how long the low patch has lasted, what it is affecting, and what shifts it, then gives you a plain-language read-back and a few things to try.

Is it private?

Yes. Your answers stay in your own dashboard. No therapist sees them, and Theraglee never sells or shares consumer health data.

What should I do if the result worries me?

Talk to a licensed therapist. If you are thinking of harming yourself, call or text 988 in the United States now.
