The first seven days

  • Day 1Name one skill you have now that you did not have ten years ago, and say it out loud.
  • Day 2Stretch slowly beside your bed this morning and notice which parts of you have carried you the longest.
  • Day 3Ask someone older than you what they wish they had known at your age, and write down one phrase from their answer.
  • Day 4Catch the next time you say "I'm too old for that" and try "I haven't tried that yet" instead.
  • Day 5Write down three things you still want to do in your life, big or small, and keep the list somewhere you will see it.
  • Day 6Write down a lesson you learned the hard way, and thank the younger you who paid for it.
  • Day 7Look at your most comfortable shoes and thank them for the miles they have walked with you over the years.

Further into the year

The to-dos keep changing as the year goes on. A few from later in this theme:

  • Day 30Draft a short letter to yourself ten years from now, telling future you what you hope they still enjoy.
  • Day 60Record a short voice memo of a story from your life you would like someone to hear one day.
  • Day 120Think of a hobby you dropped years ago and spend five minutes on it today, just for the pleasure.
  • Day 240Notice which part of your day felt most meaningful, and plan to make a little more room for it tomorrow.
  • Day 365End the day by writing one sentence about what gave it meaning, and one thing you hope tomorrow holds.

How a challenge works

A Theraglee challenge is a theme with one small to-do for every day of a year. You choose how long yours runs, anywhere from a week to the full year, and each day you get the next to-do: something that takes a few minutes and fits inside an ordinary day. Tick it off when it is done. Nothing is scored and nothing is lost if you miss a day; the next to-do is simply waiting when you come back.

Challenges come with a free Theraglee account, which never asks for a card. Your progress stays private to you.
