The first seven days

  • Day 1Hold the door and make eye contact with a smile for someone today.
  • Day 2Send a message to someone telling them one thing they do well.
  • Day 3Let someone go ahead of you in a line or in traffic.
  • Day 4Leave a generous tip or a kind word for someone who serves you today.
  • Day 5Pick up one piece of litter you would normally walk past.
  • Day 6Ask someone who looks busy or stressed if there is anything you can do to help.
  • Day 7Write a thank-you note to a teacher, mentor, or coach from your past.

Further into the year

The to-dos keep changing as the year goes on. A few from later in this theme:

  • Day 30Look back at this challenge and notice which acts of kindness felt best. Plan to keep doing those.
  • Day 60Send a voice message to a friend telling them you are proud of them.
  • Day 120Give a coworker a real answer when they ask how you are, then ask them back.
  • Day 240Give an honest, kind answer when a friend asks for feedback, then say one thing they did well.
  • Day 365Pick your favorite kindness from this challenge and make a plan to repeat it every week.

How a challenge works

A Theraglee challenge is a theme with one small to-do for every day of a year. You choose how long yours runs, anywhere from a week to the full year, and each day you get the next to-do: something that takes a few minutes and fits inside an ordinary day. Tick it off when it is done. Nothing is scored and nothing is lost if you miss a day; the next to-do is simply waiting when you come back.

Challenges come with a free Theraglee account, which never asks for a card. Your progress stays private to you.
