Studying Without the Stress

For students and lifelong learners who dread the books. Each day is one small study habit, from a short focused session to a tidy desk or a practice question, that makes learning steadier and the night before a test calmer.

The first seven days

  • Day 1Set a timer for 20 minutes and work through one page of notes, then stop when it rings.
  • Day 2Clear everything off your desk except what today's subject needs, and notice how the space feels.
  • Day 3Write down every assignment, quiz and exam you know about this term on one sheet of paper, so nothing lives only in your head.
  • Day 4Close your notes and write three things you remember from your last class or lesson, then check what you missed.
  • Day 5Put your phone in another room for one study session and see how much quieter your head feels.
  • Day 6Pick the hardest task on your list and give it just the first five minutes before anything else.
  • Day 7Explain one idea from your course out loud to an empty room, as if a friend had asked you about it.

Further into the year

The to-dos keep changing as the year goes on. A few from later in this theme:

  • Day 30Study for 25 minutes at the library today instead of at home, and notice whether the change helps.
  • Day 60Pick a light, bright corner for studying today and open a window or blind if you can.
  • Day 120Cover the answers in your notes with a sheet of paper and test yourself line by line.
  • Day 240Keep a holiday study plan small: one short session a day, then let the rest of the day be for rest and people.
  • Day 365Close your books for the night, take a slow breath, and tell yourself you did enough today.

How a challenge works

A Theraglee challenge is a theme with one small to-do for every day of a year. You choose how long yours runs, anywhere from a week to the full year, and each day you get the next to-do: something that takes a few minutes and fits inside an ordinary day. Tick it off when it is done. Nothing is scored and nothing is lost if you miss a day; the next to-do is simply waiting when you come back.

Challenges come with a free Theraglee account, which never asks for a card. Your progress stays private to you.
