Trusting Yourself More
For anyone who second-guesses every choice or checks with everyone else before deciding. Each day is one small way to notice your own good sense, keep promises to yourself and let your judgment count.
Confidence · Self-Esteem · Decision Making · Values · one to-do a day · you choose how many days
The first seven days
- Day 1Recall a past choice that turned out well and jot down the one thing you knew that pointed you there.
- Day 2Order the first dish on the menu that makes you curious, without asking the table what they are getting.
- Day 3Choose one tiny promise this morning, such as stretching for one minute, and keep it before lunch.
- Day 4When someone asks where to eat tonight, name the place you actually want before you say "I don't mind."
- Day 5When you feel the urge to poll everyone about a small choice, pick the one person whose view you value most and ask only them.
- Day 6Write a gut feeling about something small on a sticky note, then read it again tonight and see how it went.
- Day 7Put on the sweater you reached for first this morning and head out without asking anyone how it looks.
Further into the year
The to-dos keep changing as the year goes on. A few from later in this theme:
- Day 30Pull up an old choice that did not work out and write one sentence about what you knew at the time you made it.
- Day 60Limit yourself to a single review when picking a new book, then commit to reading the first chapter.
- Day 120Sort one piece of advice you received lately into "useful" or "soothing," with no judgment either way.
- Day 240Write one sentence starting with "My good sense told me" about something you handled well recently.
- Day 365End the day by naming one choice you made today and one reason it was sensible.
How a challenge works
A Theraglee challenge is a theme with one small to-do for every day of a year. You choose how long yours runs, anywhere from a week to the full year, and each day you get the next to-do: something that takes a few minutes and fits inside an ordinary day. Tick it off when it is done. Nothing is scored and nothing is lost if you miss a day; the next to-do is simply waiting when you come back.
Challenges come with a free Theraglee account, which never asks for a card. Your progress stays private to you.
