Celebrating Small Wins

For anyone who finishes something and moves straight to the next thing without a pause. Each day is one small way to notice what went right and let it count, so progress feels real instead of invisible.

The first seven days

  • Day 1Before you move on to the next thing tonight, name one thing you finished today and say "that counts" out loud.
  • Day 2Start a note on your phone called "Wins" and add the first entry now, however small it seems.
  • Day 3Write down one thing that went right at work today, and leave the mistakes off the list for once.
  • Day 4Take a photo of something you completed today, a cleared sink, a sent report, a made bed, and keep it.
  • Day 5Tell one person about something small you pulled off this week, and stop talking before you add "but."
  • Day 6Put a check mark next to one task you finished today and look at it for five full seconds.
  • Day 7Getting out of bed on a heavy morning is a win. If you did it today, write it down.

Further into the year

The to-dos keep changing as the year goes on. A few from later in this theme:

  • Day 30Write the sentence "Today I made progress on..." and finish it before you close your laptop.
  • Day 60Choose one habit you skipped today and one you kept, and give the kept one the last word.
  • Day 120Take a photo of your workspace at the end of the day, and notice what got done there.
  • Day 240On a day of bad news, notice one way you took care of yourself, and let it count.
  • Day 365Close today by writing a single sentence that begins "I am glad I" and ends with something small.

How a challenge works

A Theraglee challenge is a theme with one small to-do for every day of a year. You choose how long yours runs, anywhere from a week to the full year, and each day you get the next to-do: something that takes a few minutes and fits inside an ordinary day. Tick it off when it is done. Nothing is scored and nothing is lost if you miss a day; the next to-do is simply waiting when you come back.

Challenges come with a free Theraglee account, which never asks for a card. Your progress stays private to you.
