The first seven days

  • Day 1Write down five words that describe the person you want to be.
  • Day 2Pick one of your values and do one small thing today that expresses it.
  • Day 3Think of a person you admire and write down which of their qualities you want more of.
  • Day 4Notice one moment today when you acted in line with what you care about. Name the value.
  • Day 5Write down one thing you spend time on that does not match your values, and one small change.
  • Day 6Ask yourself: "If today were a chapter, what would I want it to be about?" Then live one page of it.
  • Day 7Do something today for a cause, a person, or a place you care about.

Further into the year

The to-dos keep changing as the year goes on. A few from later in this theme:

  • Day 30Look back over this challenge and write down the two or three values that came up most. Those are yours.
  • Day 60Pick a value you hold about the environment and change one household habit today to match it.
  • Day 120Ask a mentor or older colleague what values guided their best decisions, and write down one you want to borrow.
  • Day 240Reflect on the kindest thing you did this week and identify the value it grew from.
  • Day 365Close the year of this challenge by writing your values on a single card, and keep it where you will see it tomorrow morning.

How a challenge works

A Theraglee challenge is a theme with one small to-do for every day of a year. You choose how long yours runs, anywhere from a week to the full year, and each day you get the next to-do: something that takes a few minutes and fits inside an ordinary day. Tick it off when it is done. Nothing is scored and nothing is lost if you miss a day; the next to-do is simply waiting when you come back.

Challenges come with a free Theraglee account, which never asks for a card. Your progress stays private to you.
